Sykamia
One of the longest beaches on Serifos, a northern one and therefore exposable to winds. It is a beautiful sandy and pebbly seashore with blue-green waters, a few trees and a tavern. It’s secluded and very tranquil.
Psili Ammos
A long, sandy beach with lovely shallow waters, a few trees and many amenities. It can get windy and it’s also favored by yachts.
Livadakia
Popular beach with golden sand, clean waters, tamarisk trees and many facilities. It is located next to the port of Livadi (and its crowded beach Avlomonas), at the island’s camping site. If you fancy a more isolated cove, you can walk towards the neighboring beach of Karavi (non-organized and nudist friendly).
Ganema
Azure waters, golden sand and tamarisk trees that provide nice shadow make this beach one of the island’s most beautiful and serene. It is located at Koutalas bay, next to the beach of Vagia (similar in looks, but treeless). Some taverns are available in the area.
Agios Sostis
One of most scenic beaches on Serifos. It consists of two small coves, one of which is wind-protected. It’s quiet, with sand and shingles, crystalline waters and no facilities.
Local products & specialties
Kythnos is famous for its high quality kopanisti cheese, caper, wine, thyme honey, pasteli (sweet with honey and sesame) and amygdalota (type of almond toffees). As for the island’s specialties, you should try sfougato (cheese ball), kolopia (spinach pie) and savoro (marinated fish).
